ABOUT THE CROSSING
The Strait of Gibraltar is one of the world's most iconic marathon swims, connecting Europe and Africa while linking the Atlantic Ocean with the Mediterranean Sea.
Although only 15.8 kilometres long, powerful currents, changing weather and one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world make every crossing unique.
In May 2026, I successfully completed this extraordinary challenge as part of my Oceans Seven journey.

THE JOURNEY
Waiting for the Sea
Sometimes peak performance begins with patience. Deniz waited ten days for weather conditions that would allow the crossing.
Four Swimmers. One Team.
The crossing demanded complete synchronization. Every swimmer depended on each other, proving that extraordinary performance is always a team effort.
Between Two Continents
After several hours in the water, the mental challenge became greater than the physical one. Faith, resilience and presence became the true drivers forward.
Swimming for Peace
In the middle of the Strait, surrounded by pilot whales, the mission became even clearer: nature has no borders. The crossing became a symbol of unity and world peace.
