Out of Comfort Zone – TEDx Speech now on YouTube!

Updated: Jun 9, 2023

One of my dreams was always to have a TEDx talk; now that dream has come true! This magic has happened as part of a journey of self-development, going out of my comfort zone. In fact, I have dedicated the last 15 years of my life to unlocking potential by overcoming fears and stepping out of my comfort zone, so I have some experiences and knowledge to share. And this TEDx Talk is all about that.

So let me share with you why Out of comfort zone magic can happen!

These are some highlights of the speech, and if you also believe in unlocking potential, I invite you to check out the whole TEDx Talk. The link is at the end of this article. Feel free to share it, like it, and comment 😉

“The cold water became my teacher because every time I went into the cold, I also felt that my brain was blocking me. My limiting beliefs were getting activated, so I decided not just to train physically but also mentally. Because, as you know, more than 60% is always mental power.”

“The more you go out of your comfort zone, the more you get self-confidence, expand your comfort zone, expand your inner borders, and increase and activate your learning and growth zone. The more you go to the unknown space, the more you learn and can deal with unknown challenges; you increase your resilience and capability to adapt to new situations.”

“When I discovered the power of out-of-comfort zone, I started to dream bigger and started to have more courage to tackle even a bigger challenge. I decided to do the Robben Island swim. Maybe you know the area? Nelson Mandela stayed there in prison. The prison was there because no one could escape from this island. The water was freezing, and there were great white sharks. So no one would have the courage to try to escape by swimming in this water or would survive in the cold.

But guess what? There are some crazy swimmers in the world who did it. And I wanted to be one of them. I decided to take action again, and, at the same time, I felt the fear. But my desire to achieve this new goal was bigger than my fear.”

“And did you know that every single human on this planet is born with just two main fears? The fear of falling and the fear of noise. Every other fear is learned or acquired. Fear of failure… Fear of not being good enough… Fear of having pain… Fear of not being accepted. We have created those fears based on our life experiences and our environment. And those fears are holding us back.”
